As we look forward to the coming 2023-2024 season, we at Sandal RUFC would like to express our thanks for your support through last season and look forward to your continued support.
We will start the new season on a very positive note from a rugby angle with a steady, consolidated senior squad, including the return of some old club favourites… watch this space! We also look forward to continued success in a strong MJ section which ended with our U16 girls taking the National Champions trophy for last season!
We still face financial challenges, our supplier costs are still rising and although we have new energy contracts in place from last year the sums involved are still at the ‘eye watering’ level and as such energy saving remains our No1 priority, ensuring the big energy burners such as water heating, space heating and pitch lighting are controlled and used sensibly. We ask that all members help where they can with this initiative.
We have continued to invest in our facilities this year, as I write this a group of mainly volunteers, are busy renovating the Milnthorpe Lounge, this will further improve the clubs offering to our membership and the wider community and will also help towards increasing our event hire business to drive increased revenue.
The membership subscription has been frozen at last year’s prices for the 2023-2024 season as we aim to continue with our cost saving measures to help absorb the inflationary pressures we are all facing. Once again to provide additional help we have introduced a 4 Month Interest Free payment option for our Family, Micro and Academy Membership options which is available now through your GMS account. The interest free option will be available for membership purchases from 1st July to the 30th September only.
Your membership card from last year is a magstripe card and will be your card for the new season, once membership is paid your card will be activated to provide your bar discount ect.

Note. We have included a slight change to our Family Membership for this season, to try and eliminate the confusion over adding children to the family option, the player/child will now be the person selected for the membership and parents/guardians will be added to the membership. This will hopefully get us away from the problem of players not been shown as members in the system and cut out the additional workload required to detect and fix. It should also stop the ‘chasing’ of player membership when they are in fact up to date. Also, Family Membership with more than one player will incur an additional nominal cost of £20 per additional player. Please see attached help guides.
Thanks to the efforts of our sponsorship team, I am happy to confirm that the subscription for all MJ & Micro teams will include the new seasons shirt in the price again this year.
Once again, I stress, we will never stop anyone from playing rugby at Sandal due to personal financial constraints, there is always a solution. Please feel free to contact myself or any other club official, in the strictest confidence, if you wish to discuss any issues concerning this.
Membership Subscriptions can be paid anytime from July 1st, 2023.
Looking forward to next season we are optimistic in both rugby terms and in driving more revenue through the facility to help cover our increased costs and to provide more investment for the future.
We look forward to welcoming all past and present members back to the club for what I’m sure will be an exciting and entertaining new season.
